Frequently Asked Questions

A. To request an accurate quote, it helps to provide the property location, the rough size of the area, and what you want to achieve. This might include firebreaks, pasture improvement, access tracks, lantana control, regrowth clearing or general vegetation management.
Every job gets an assessment before pricing. Depending on the size and location, this might be an on-site visit, a review of detailed photos, or — for larger areas — satellite or drone imagery.
We don't quote sight-unseen.
Photos are also useful, especially if they show vegetation density, access points, slope or any difficult terrain.
Helpful details to include: Property suburb or postcode / Approximate area to be cleared / Main vegetation type / Desired outcome / Photos of the site, if available.

A. Fusion Forestry runs a Fecon FTX150-2 dedicated tracked forestry mulcher for heavy work, large areas and dense regrowth, and a Takeuchi TL12V2 compact tracked loader fitted with an FAE VT175 mulching head for selective clearing, follow-up work, constrained access and steep terrain. The TL12V2 has been modified specifically for the demands of forestry work. Plant is moved on our own Iveco S-Way flatbed truck, which also carries spare parts and fuel — keeping us self-sufficient on remote jobs without relying on outside transport or support.
The right result depends on more than just the machine. It also comes down to matching the equipment, setup and approach to the vegetation density, terrain and finish required. This helps achieve a controlled result while reducing unnecessary soil disturbance.

A. The amount that can be cleared in a day depends on vegetation density, slope, ground conditions and site access.
Typical output is 7–10 acres per day per machine in moderate conditions. Light regrowth in open country can run faster; thick lantana, tight access, rocky ground or steep terrain takes longer. We don't quote per-acre rates — every site is different.

A. Permit requirements depend on your council area, zoning and the type of vegetation being removed.
Permit responsibility sits with the landowner. We recommend confirming with your local council before works commence. If you let us know the suburb or postcode and what you want to clear, we can talk through what's typical in your area — but the final check is yours.

A. Forestry mulching is a cleaner and more controlled method of land clearing. It removes overgrowth without pushing up large root balls or stripping topsoil in the way some traditional clearing methods can.
Compared with burning or heavy clearing, mulching generally leaves the soil in better condition, reduces erosion risk and helps prepare the area for long-term land improvement. It is especially useful for access tracks, firebreak preparation, pasture recovery and weed control.
Our approach: achieve a strong initial knockdown, then manage regrowth over time. That means less ongoing maintenance, fewer repeat visits, and a cleaner, more usable property long-term — with none of the environmental cost of burning, stripping or hauling away. Vegetation is processed in place and returned to the soil, supporting healthier regrowth and better water retention.
